COME JUST AS You Are

OUR VIsion

Taking care of those in need as we all grow closer to God.

OUR BELIEFS

Our Community is made up of many types of people from differing religious and traditional backgrounds who all share a common love and passion for Jesus. As a church we celebrate the theological diversity of our community. Some of us are conservative, some of us are liberal, some of us love the Church, some have been burned. Some of us are seekers, others of us are fully committed followers. These things are important, but they are not what's most important. A Christian is someone whose life and faith is oriented around the person of Jesus. We believe the Gospel is essential and everything else is an ongoing conversation. We don't hold our theological beliefs with a closed fist, but instead with an open hand. We believe conviction and humility belong together. We want to be a place where people feel safe asking questions. Our heart is not to enforce dogma, but to enable dialogue. Ultimately for us at The Pointe, Christianity is not a system of beliefs, but a way of life.

OUR Values

Teaching the Gospel: The Christian faith is the Good News that God is renewing and restoring this world through the love of Christ. We believe all of Scripture points us to Jesus and that Scripture is only read accurately when it is read in a way that leads us to a Jesus-shaped life and a Jesus-shaped understanding of who God is. Our goal is to invite people to join God in the work of transforming the world into the place God has always intended for it to be.

Building Relationships: The Pointe is committed to building real, authentic relationships. Everybody who walks through our doors is considered to be family. Our hope is that The Pointe can be a place where people connect deeply with other individuals and form healthy friendships that will last a lifetime. Our goal is to create a space where people can be open and vulnerable without being frowned upon or judged.

Loving Our Community: At the center of the Christian faith is the notion that God is love. Jesus - who is the visible image of the invisible God - exemplified this love by laying his life down for the sake of others. Jesus taught us that there are two commandments that stand out above the rest: Love God and Love People. This is why we are committed to loving our community, because following the path of Jesus means following the path of Love. As a Church, we want to be an answer to Jesus' Prayer "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven." Loving our community isn't just a part of what we do, it's the heart of everything we do. We exist for this purpose.
